The Story

Everyone thinks Saint is crazy. He doesn’t really blame them. He knows he comes across as a paranoid conspiracy theorist. But he is certain that he’s right about everything and there’s nothing he won’t do to prove it. Just because Saint is willing to put his life on the line doesn’t mean his friends are.

Saint’s ideas lead him places he planned to leave in the past. After seeing something he was never supposed to know about, he disappears. Saint is gone without a trace. Almost. He left behind a series of clues in the form of cassettes and coded messages. Determined to get their friend back, Click and the others follow these clues.

They soon find themselves in over their heads trying to figure out what happened. Between the criminal underworld and the growing presence of surveillance in what used to be their safe haven, the group quickly realizes they have no idea what they’ve gotten themselves into. Along the way, everything Click thinks he knows about his world is challenged. The search for Saint brings him right to the rot at the heart of his city, and it goes deeper than he ever imagined.

About the Artist

Red Tape is a Science Fiction webcomic written and illustrated by myself. The character design, story, and worldbuilding were largely done by me, but it would be disingenuous to leave out credit to my good friend Quest (@lonesome_little_cryptid) who created Fret and has always been a shoulder to lean on and a sounding board for ideas. She is my number one supporter, and made it possible for this comic to happen!

I also want to shout out my many other artist and writer friends, of which there are many. You know who you are. Red Tape is not the first comic I've made, or the only project I'm working on, but it's been my passion project for the last year or so, and I am excited to share it here!
